Our SSR3 is held at Collie Motorplex in April and it is always a weekend that is not only asphalt and adrenalin-charged, but also a great social component to it. Not just if you're racing!

Partners of members who are in the sporting series, along with members who wish to come along as spectators and join in on the camaraderie - you are most welcome to do so!

PCWA is running this event and we have invited the HSV Club and the Triumph Sports Owners Club to attend to ensure there are enough starters so that the event has full attendance.  As of 10 April there are four competitor slots left.

SOCIAL, ACCOMMODATION & REGISTRATION

Accommodation: Call the Collie Ridge Motel directly - 9734 6666 to reserve a room & mention PCWA when you book (10% discount for members).

Catering:  The weekend includes the following events:

  1. Friday Night Social BBQ (free for PCWA members)
  2. Saturday at the track - the canteen will be open
  3. Saturday night dinner at Collie Ridge Motel (at extra cost payable to the hotel)
Please make sure you register your attendance and add TOTAL number of attendees (including yourself) for the above events when you register (space is included on the PCWA rego form).

Registration Note: Please remember to register yourself and any guests coming with you. For example: If you have 4 people on your family membership but only you are racing and 1 guest is coming , then you register yourself plus 1 guest etc. However each person racing will also need to register separately and pay the $150 individually via the cams website (links below).

All cars will need a Dorian which can be hired for $20 at the track.

Please email Grace Tan - Social Director at social@porscheclubwa.org.au if you have any questions regarding catering or accommodation.

Extra Info for new members

The specific requirements for vehicles and drivers are defined by CAMS and are available at http://www.cams.com.au/motor-sport/regulations/cams-manual/general-requirements . It is important that each driver understands these requirements.  The key points to be aware of for the PCWA Sporting Series as per the CAMS Schedules are:

1.   Licence requirements: Level 2 Speed Cams licence: click here to see the application form.

2.   ASA Approved helmet that meets the Australian Standard AS1698    (other acceptable overseas standards are SFI24.1, SA2000, E22 & BS6658-85) these are available at motorbike or speed shops.

3.   Clothing needs to be wrist to neck to ankle, flammable synthetic material is not acceptable.  Cotton is recommended.

4.   Fire extinguisher fitted to your vehicle, NO new holes need to be drilled in your car, existing seat bolts are utilised and the frame & bottle can be easily removed when not needed.  Extinguisher needs to meet Australian Standard AS1841 and be 900g minimum capacity.  It needs to be firmly secured and must be not more than 3 years old.

5.   Visible tow points/hook(s) front and rear, where they are not visible they need to be marked with the word “Tow”.  Stickers are available from race shops such as Go Gear for this.  Porsche tool kits have a tow hook which is acceptable

6.   Display a blue triangle (sides 150mm) indicating the location of the battery. Stickers are available from race shops such as Go Gear for this, alternatively electrical tape can be used to mark out a triangle.

7.   Glass headlights need to have an adhesive cover or tape fitted to prevent the spillage of glass onto the track

Please contact David Blainey - Sporting Director at sportingevents@porscheclub.org.au if you have any questions.
